I have a thing for OP grumpy geniuses and would love to see some of it on display. I love competence kink, especially mutual competence kink. Would love to see them clashing personality or culture or even power wise. How do their magics interact? Does the student try to pass off his new husband as a fellow student? Or do they get raucous congratulations right off and have to act like they meant to do that? Do they work magic together? Or have to mark some “I’m not your familiar” boundaries? Native of a Newly Colonized Planet/Mail Order Husband of Colonizer Species (Other):

So I kind of love the idea of this colony of humans getting along with the native population (in a non-exploitative way; I’d prefer both sides of the equation to be happy for them to be there), and one of the native aliens goes and orders themself (any gender or non-gender or made up alien gender fine) a human mail order husband, having been delighted with the human idea of it. Does the mail order husband know they’re marrying an alien? What makes them sign up for it? What’s it like learning to live with an alien? Do they hit it off or have to figure things out?

I’d love to see them learning about each other, maybe some exploration of the world they’re on, and most of all, I love the whoa! fish out of water, overwhelming new relationship thrown right in the deep end between members of completely different species. I’d love if the alien was a bit of a cinnamon roll, but maybe they don’t have any idea how to show that in a human fashion. And they probably have very, very different ideas of what’s romantic than a human does.

Alien Preferences: Okay, so aliens! I adore 1. humanoid, 2. shapeshifting, or 3. feathered or furry and preferably with wings, or you could also do 4. SF dragons or phoenixes or mermaids or the like. I’m fine with xeno sex or it being humanoid enough that it’s just exotic, though I’d prefer relatively straightforward cocks/ovipositors without barbs or tentacles. Colonist on a Newly Terraformed Planet/Mail Order Husband (F/M):

I kind of love the idea of this woman who’s part of a terraforming project and probably very intelligent or a high-level professional to be one of the starting colonists and she’s ordering in a husband from her homeworld. I love the idea of the woman being weighted somewhat more powerful in the relationship to start off with. I love the idea of colonizing and terraforming and any worldbuilding or technical or societal details you might possibly want to throw into that.

Is the mail order husband going because he needs this sort of arrangement or is he excited and eager to get married? Is the colonist lonely, planning for the future because it’s part of the colonist package, or just short on other options for finding the right someone? I’d love to see some settling in, sorting out boundaries (physical or emotional), any kind of competence kink, or even handling the more adventurous trials of building a colony on an uninhabited planet together.

Competent PTSD Martial Artist Wife/Competent Husband/Assigned Male 3rd Spouse to Save Marriage (F/M):

Okay, so this prompt combines my love of “arranged” or “assigned” marriages, competence kink, powerful women and the kind of men that fall in love with them exactly as they are, and when things start to become a problem when someone starts pulling away. So the idea was that one or both of them tries to initiate divorce and instead they get assigned a “compatible” third spouse to try to save the marriage. I’d love to see how that idea works in practice, someone that can reach out in a way that the people already involved can’t.

I’d love to see what kind of person gets assigned, whether it’s a cinnamon roll or someone with their own kind of reserve. What makes them the right kind of compatible to potentially save the marriage. Do the husband or wife help him know things about the other’s preferences or habits that help him settle in? Do either of them open up to him, grudgingly or willingly? Does he open up to them about how he ended up here? Is he eager to get married or was he as surprised by the assignment as they were? Also, any kind of on-screen martial arts, especially leading to attraction, would be wonderful.

So this is kind of like arranged marriage / bonding, but it’s designed to be more about getting things done than having feelings, and they both know what they’re getting into. I would definitely like there to be sex in these stories, but I’d also kind of like it to be consequential: with a build-up and/or an aftermath. It can also just be a scene where it makes sense to have one, I’m not picky.

I’d love to see the kinds of people that would devote themselves enough to a cause to make one, love to see it in use to pass intel around those they’re trying to hide from/avoid and how they pass off this relationship of convenience as nothing important to those they’re surrounded by. I would definitely love to see a bit of a rocky relationship upfront where the only thing they share in common is their convictions and the rest is all learn to live with each other.

Do they get an experienced temporary husband or someone just as new to all this as they are? Who falls first? Established Relationship Evolves

There is something to be said for a relationship with history. I love established relationship fic particularly for that, so whether they start off as a long-standing romantic relationship or in some cases are trying to move from friends to lovers, I am very very much here for that sense of their history together—and also them taking base advantage of it.

I’m just as happy whether you get to sex or not, though I’d prefer any sex scenes to be consequential and have build-up and/or aftermath to them. Especially when they’re interjecting a relationship that this is a big step for, whether that’s the new lovers element altogether or reconciling / building something new after amnesia. I’m also fine with the virgin unicorn hunters starting a romantic, non-sexual relationship if they decide to keep their profession.

I love seeing some nuts and bolts of the worldbuilding, but I’m definitely here for a heavier focus on the relationship. I’d love to see them both at sea a little and trying so hard for each other, and I kind of love those moments when the person that’s hurt (in this case, has amnesia) tries to comfort the one that isn’t. Because this would be emotionally devastating for both of them. Most of all, I’m hoping to see them realizing they’re in love or falling in love again by the end.

There’s a lot of built-in possibility here. I love friends to lovers, long-term pining, and the whole series of realizations that leads from my best friend to oh no, I’m in love. I also love the built in cultural differences and their very different worlds. I’d love to see them bridging those gaps or just never even thinking about them until suddenly love is in the mix and now they have to.

Did she ever “steal” his skin as a kid and then realized she shouldn’t have but actually he didn’t mind? Do they work out their whole relationship with lots of talking things through or stumble their way into it on accident and have to fix up the train crash of acting on feelings without talking about any of it first? How do the things they did as friends change when they fell for each other?

I’d prefer if they are mentor/mentee but never thought of each other in a parent/child way. I really like the idea of these people with a built-in reason to ignore sex and sex-related things but are totally close to each other and have known each other forever and at least one of them is pining and very interested in being seen in a romantic light. I also really like the idea of her having started off as playing bait, but now she’s a thoroughly independent, capable hunter herself.

I love the idea of a couple of geeks that love each other to pieces but never even think about what kind of love that is, and then one of them gets a crush and neither of them know anything about romance. Cue research and practice and trying it out on said crush and he may or may not realize at first that there’s some definite third-party assistance getting their dating life off the ground, but eventually she realizes she’s in love with her best friend (probably with some assistance from said practice), he realizes he’s in love with his best friend, and said crush decides he likes her best friend and not just her alone.

Feel free for it to be as happy for now and experimental as you like but I’d love to see them all end up together. Female Xenolinguist/Male Humanoid Alien of a Previously Undiscovered Species (F/M):

Okay, so I love language and linguistics and first contact and cultural differences and language barrier and learning about each other with absolutely no common ground to start with, and this is just like the combination of all of that. I’d love it if she’s really trained and competent at how to go about this, and he’s curious and interested and a friendly alien, and I’d love to see both of their perspectives as they get to know each other.

Maybe she’s representing some Federation-like governing body or was called in just because some trader had an oh wow encounter. I’d love to see them also negotiate how future contact’s going to go, while falling in love along the way. Feel free to incorporate space politics or worldbuilding alongside all those shippy moments too!

I do tend to love their capriciousness and wild inhuman nature and would love to see some of that inhumanness at work. I also love magic schools and competing kinds of magic and quiet, reserved, standoffish people getting love or getting drawn out in spite of themselves.

Maybe they’re roommates or are partnered up for a school assignment or get up to magic shenanigans in a school department rivalry and are thrown together as unlikely allies. Feel free to write whatever strikes your fancy. I’d love to see slow opening up and falling for each other by surprise. And pining obliviously. Or not so obliviously. Or mutual pining. I love the idea of human/spaceship interfaces or communicating with both the spaceship and the avatar, of multiple inputs for the spaceship, and multitasking ability that works our real well when they can juggle relationship time and work time simultaneously. I love ship POV and/or pilot POV.

Android/AI Avatar Preferences: I’d prefer humanoid with actual human appearance rather than a metallic one, but with a nonhuman personality that has all the advantages of being AI, in processing power or computation or instant search capabilities, etc. I also like AI that doesn’t want to be human. I like them to have feelings, though how that’s generated/interpreted/aligned with human feelings can vary wildly. For sex, I’m fine with them having human-like parts or doing robot-fiddling to induce pleasure (or taking advantage of superhuman strength for the human’s).

I love the not knowingness here and eventually the reveal, especially if the spaceship/space station didn’t actually know the other person wasn’t aware they were the spaceship/space station. Though maybe they did figure it out along the way and were just super self conscious and worried about how to break it to their significant other. All the misunderstandings but also shippiness, romance, making everything perfect for their pilot/resident because they control the world essentially, or just figuring out what each other likes, getting to know humanity and human interests and their own preferences through getting to know this human.

Android/AI Avatar Preferences: I’d prefer humanoid with actual human appearance rather than a metallic one, but with a nonhuman personality that has all the advantages of being AI, in processing power or computation or instant search capabilities, etc. I also like AI that doesn’t want to be human.
