I would love to see sex in these stories but preferably after it’s been earned. If you just get them to the kissing stage, that’s fine too and I love a good kissing scene!

“Know Each Other Well” Get Together Shipfic

I love pining! I love characters being in the situation where nakedness or vulnerability could come up and the pining character feels awkward or horrified but turned on because the other party doesn’t know their true feelings. I love when they don’t want to ruin their relationship or truly believe it’s unrequited and it’s not just stupidity that they don’t say something. I love it when both are in the same boat and it’s mutual or when it’s truly one-sided, so long as the friendship or partnership survives them deciding whether or not they love the other one back, regardless of which they choose. I love platonically married partners or estranged friends that could have been more and now get another shot at reconciling their differences and becoming something more. I love it messy and angsty and complicated and knowing each other enough to hurt each other, and I love it leavened with some gentle humor if I can get it and a happy ending.

What I Love About the Ship

I love the idea of a changeling who stays with his human family and always feels a bit fish out of water and like he doesn’t belong, with fae instincts and human upbringing and magic that’s powerful, even more powerful than usual, but doesn’t fit in.

I’d love to see the standoffish fellow mage student as having good reasons of his own for his standoffishness, maybe a negligent family or other reason to feel like he doesn’t belong, and they get thrown together for magic or schoolwork and help each other as they fall in love despite themselves. Maybe fae use wild magic as capricious as they are and human mages use a rules-based magic system.

I’d love to see worldbuilding or magic details or culture clashes (especially concerning domestic or marital affairs and/or wedding traditions), maybe even a hint of how the changeling doesn’t fit in with fae any more than he does humans, and some of the way things work at the school and how they do or don’t fit into that.

I’d prefer if they fall in love and realize it over the course of being stuck married and end up staying married, or getting remarried if they fix the original cause.

For FMK, I’d prefer if the ‘kill’ definitely didn’t become magically binding and tbh, would prefer if they didn’t have to fuck someone else either for whatever reason. But they somehow agreed to get married and never planned that.

And for the fake marriage being made real, whether it’s due to “magical reasons” being applied to their fake marriage, in some innocent way by a friend, or something more mundane, like “oh, they forgot to sign the marriage license” not knowing they were just trying to fool some magic or bureaucracy or requirement into thinking they were married without actually committing. (Maybe there are some benefits that are only available to married students? Or some magic requires a marriage tie and they’re trying to trick into working without a real one for some joint assignment. I don’t know, have fun.) Or maybe they’re pretending to be married for any of these lovely marriage of convenience reasons, then a delegation of fae show up like, “Now that you’re married…” and he’s going, “I have finals!” and trying to prevent them making it real, to no avail.

Woke Up Married

I love this trope! Whether it’s because they really did do something stupid and spontaneous and get married or it’s some sort of wish-granting gone sideways (that’s not what I meant when I wished that!) or an alternate universe or even a dream world (if they take action after waking to make the dream real). Or you know, magic.

In two-sided, I love them awkwardly trying to hide it, make it work long enough to get unmarried, and also realize at some point that getting unmarried isn’t a thing they want to do. I love moments of necessary intimacy, when called for, or almost moments both of them quietly wish hadn’t been almost.

In one-sided, I’d love to see the awkwardness of hiding it from the unexpected spouse and yet the spouse expecting everything to be okay and normal. I love the moments of trying to navigate expectations of intimacy in all kinds of ways when one of them is totally out of step and figuring out that hey, they really do want this sort of relationship.

Made Up Spouse That Turns Out to be Real

I absolutely love this trope, whether it’s:

• The mundane one party was faking the relationship for some sort of real reasons with real stakes (there are options: mage with issues or a changeling with all kinds of potential issues tied to being fae and making the choice to live with humans) but did something to make it seem more real and it caught the real person on the other end, and then the real person they “made up” needed their own ticket out of family or life obligation problems that getting handed a significant other just happened to provide. (Or those benefits only married students get.)
• The made up significant other comes into existence (or the timeline) in response to someone’s wish or magic and thinks they were always real.
• The significant other is a real person but suddenly thinks they’ve been in a relationship all this time as reality sort of rewrites itself around the person’s story of it, and they have to sort that out.

I love it when there are awkward, sudden intimacies that the main character didn’t plan for but can’t entirely turn down without bringing down the house of cards and when the two characters in the relationship end up together after working through initial difficulties of either sorting out reality or sorting out their issues.

Fake Marriage to Fend Off Unwanted Suitors

And a spot of didn’t mean to get married and actually didn’t get married before they had to figure out how to live with each other, I love the idea of either of them having unwanted suitors (maybe in the case of standoffish, his being very good at magic or having an inheritance draws them? maybe the changeling’s trying to fend off fae and nonhuman suitors?) and choosing to pretend to be married to save themselves from a worse fate. And then catch feelings. Because yes, please, feelings.

Prompts: They Meant to Get Married But Not Like That

Literal “In the Dark” Spouse Choice

They have to get married for whatever reason and they do a literally in the dark Spartan-style make off with your spouse thing and accidentally make off with a person they never intended to. And then have to live with marrying and figuring out how to live with this person.

Magic Ritual Requires Marriage, Marriage That Must Last One Year

They’ve got magic to do, marriage required, and it can all be undone when it’s over, so it’ll be fine, right? And they catch feelings or get stuck together for longer than they thought they’d have to and end up falling in love and staying married but it’s a rocky road to get there.

Marriage Arranged Because of Matching Soulmarks

I adore soulmarks (all but names), especially if they have different kinds of soulmarks and were really, really not expecting each other. Or if changelings are exchanged specifically because the soulmarks match the other species. Or any variety of this complicates things you want to do.

I love the kind of antagonistic characters that are still extremely invested in each other, enough to make this feel like something they would totally do. Especially if the proposing party did so knowing the answer would be no, and the other disappoints them, then they’re stuck with it. And of course, they catch feelings. And pine maybe along the way. And kiss.

Now, for traditional definitions of the word “want”:

Handfast Marriage

So the idea of a temporary marriage for a year and a day (unless they confirm the marriage with sex, which yes good), whether that’s because one of them’s fae or they get dragooned into it, or everyone in this society becomes an adult by entering a handfast marriage, which they can get out of by not confirming the marriage at the end, is just the perfect idea for some forced closeness. I’m fine if they have history before that or if they’ve never met before, but they chose each other to get married to.

Marriage Causes Unexpected Magical Effects

They’re happily married and all’s right with the world, except it’s not quite because magic isn’t behaving quite as expected for them or around them and they have to both figure out it’s because they’re married now and what to do about the new state of affairs.

Worldbuilding through Marriage Ceremony

I really, really love fire gods and myths and would love to see him claiming this new king and the rituals of the wedding ceremony and why this works when he expects to get an heir some other way (thinking this was symbolic) and how it works for the kingdom and then the wedding night when he finds out this isn’t symbolic at all.

I’d love to see after the wedding night too when the marriage is a real thing, and the king has to get used to being married to a god and maybe getting gifts or visits and reaching some sort of emotional resolution.

But frankly, I’m fascinated by everything implied in this pairing and would love to see worldbuilding on it or details about what this marriage means for the king and/or kingdom.

Wedding Night, Marriage must be consummated before professional witnesses

The whole surprise of it being a real wedding night, whether it’s private or absolutely not, and the discomfort and forced intimacy of choosing to consummate with a stranger, especially one you didn’t think was real. I’d love to see them working through the surprise and difference of expectations and the emotional path through it. Prefer a happyish ending where there’s hope for the relationship, even if we leave off at the end of the wedding night. I’m also happy to see more continuing after where they figure out their relationship now that they have one.

I’d love to see more about the treaty between the humans and the merfolk, what their relationship is between their peoples, how this benefits both kingdoms and both members of the treaty. I’d love to see how these characters respond to each other in light of each other’s cultures and backgrounds and what they do and don’t know about each other’s worlds and possible misunderstandings or disagreements based on that. And merfolk are usually considered really beautiful? I think that counts as a benefit.

General Worldbuilding Likes: I love it when stories incorporate cultural details, details on how the world works like the economy, industry, religion, or social circles and rules, and language details, whether that’s just the acknowledgement of how language is used or actual other language in-fic. I prefer getting dropped into a fully formed world that doesn’t always bother to explain everything, and love it when differing cultures and viewpoints within the world clash. I adore internally consistent pseudo-science and technobabble, origin stories, alternate races, and well-developed power systems for magic, technology.

I’m seriously into the forced intimacy of consummating an arranged marriage and going through the figuring out how to be married without any ability to get out of it. Munakata Reisi/Suoh Mikoto (K Project)

About the Ship

Canon I’ve Consumed

I’ve watched K (Anime), the Missing Kings movie, and Return of Kings (Anime), read Lost Small World, most of Memory of Red and Kingdom of Red, and a ton of the miscellaneous shorts running around, though I haven’t finished getting through all of them. I’ve also watched K: Blaze and Side Blue and am working on the rest of K: Seven Stories. Feel free to incorporate as much manga/side content as your heart desires. My favorite shippy content for these two is the jail scene in K at the beginning, the death scene, the fact that Munakata is the only one who’s always seeing Mikoto’s Force Slate ghost in ROK, and K: Blaze. OMG, they were precious there. There’s also that little manga side where they met up for a drink that I absolutely adore.

What I Love About the Ship

So I fell in intense interest in this ship when Munakata slammed Mikoto’s head into a wall to wake him up and they proceeded to demonstrate how into it they were with their brand of fighting and restraining each other and taunting each other to get physical. There was definitely a heaping pile of UST in the middle of all those insults, and you could feel the genuine regret in Munakata for totally turning Mikoto down. Even though it was inevitable.

Their dynamic in K: Blaze when they met hit more of my buttons. I love their fighting as flirting, how downright philosophical Mikoto is and his point about Munakata needing to see things from other perspectives and not just his own, and the way he finally has someone he can go all out against without holding back or worrying about hurting those he cares about. I love that he can rile Munakata and the two sniping like sullen teenagers with the Gold King. Hookups, fighting/flirting, needling each other, perspective clashes, clashes over territory. More of the good stuff!

Their moments of connecting in that last private meeting (and dude, your face really is too close) and then the way Mikoto trusted his death to Munakata and died in his arms (while directing his last words to Anna), it’s just a gut punch and the way Munakata’s face fell— They genuinely cared about each other deeply, for all their sniping and being the only people who can get under each other’s skin so thoroughly.

I truly fell in love with the ship though in the one-shot where they meet up for drinks, then Munakata goes back after Mikoto died and they were truly friends. For all Kusanagi “caged” Mikoto by drawing him into helping/forming Homura, him and Totsuka gave him true friends and Munakata really doesn’t have that the same way. And really, just the way they feel about each other, all the good, the bad, and the intensity of it.

About Other Relationships

With the Homura trio, I can enjoy them having an open relationship that allows for additional relationships like Munakata and Seri, or in a closed relationship with each other, or in closed relationships with Munakata and Seri and just really close friendships with each other. I’d prefer no other Munakata relationships in the fic please.

I’m fine with background relationships or relationship references of any of my other requested ships in the fandom, any canonical relationships or parents, etc.

About Smut

For this pairing, I prefer either topping or switching. Blaze also gave me a hankering to see more power bottom Mikoto, to be honest, but I’m legitimately pleased with whatever positions in sex, so long as they’re still basically equals in their dynamic.

I’d love to rough sex or hate sex or I’m making love but not admitting it out loud sex or this is just the quiet intimacy and acknowledgement of equals thing that we do without ever saying we like spending time with each other. Required to get married first in order to adopt a child

With the idea here that Mikoto needs to adopt Anna and needs to get married to do it and for whatever reason, Kusanagi and Totsuka aren’t willing to go that far for it. Though they may helpfullly attempt to find candidates or get him hitched to Munakata.

Marriage Arranged Because of Matching Soulmarks

I’d prefer if this was how they met or they’re assigned shortly after meeting in Blaze, just long enough to know they’re in for it, and they’re both still Kings of their respective Clans in the canon setting.

I adore soulmarks (all but names), especially when they were really, really not expecting each other and when the marks are meaningful or feel like they could arise naturally for biological reasons and when it complicates everything and it’s not a bandaid or an easy fix and it’s totally a lot of work to make a relationship work because a mark doesn’t just rewrite all the annoying parts of the other’s personality. In this case, it just gets you married to them whether you think the other guy’s insufferable or not.

Time Traveler Has Sex With Past Version of Their Not Yet Spouse Who is Dead in Their Future

Okay, and less how they met and more writing this around the canonical major character death here:
All the angsty, heart-wrenching intimate, loving, one-sided get together and one-sided established relationship goodness possible. Just break my heart with this and I will love you.

I’d prefer if Mikoto was the one who’d died and Munakata was the time traveler.

I love parallels to canon elements in setting AUs, but basically these are requests that don’t fit with the whole canon plotline.

Accidental Shapeshifter Marriage Due to Unknowing Theft of Animal Skin

I could see either of them accidentally making off with an animal skin, whether Munakata’s cleaning things up in some way or Mikoto has any good reason for putting one away or taking it home (he’s very go with the flow), and then ending up with their unexpected new spouse showing up at their place. I would love to see elements of humor and/or forced intimacy and differing expectations but few explanations and muddling their way into a proper relationship.

Marriage As Clemency At Public Execution

Okay, the moment I saw the description of how once upon a time at public executions, they asked if anyone would marry the criminal because marriage was this purifying, redeeming crucible, I absolutely love the idea of that. Considering how much of a delinquent Munakata makes Mikoto out to be (sometimes justifiably) and they operate off of completely different rules. And what a crucible it would be! I would love to see them rub each other the wrong way (the worst way really) under these circumstances and figuring out how to live with each other. Especially since neither are even remotely persuadable to each other’s points of view.

Male Fire God/New King Who Marries Him In What He Assumed To Be A Symbolic Ceremony

If you want to just take this as a prompt for them, I’m fine with that. I think Mikoto is the obvious choice for a fire god. Just saying.

Where do I start? I didn’t fall in love with these two until about halfway through the second season and I don’t know, there’s something about their history and how the two continued to mean so much to each other, even when they were at odds.

Yata is the first person Saruhiko ever experienced actual love and care and affection from and he made himself far more vulnerable to Yata than he ever admitted. I love that line in one of the audio dramas that he would have followed Yata into another clan if their positions had been reversed. Even though he eventually finds a way to belong in the Blue Clan, Yata remains extremely important to him and was the only person who really connected with him and tried to help him and be there for him. Munakata explicitly told him he’d have to handle his own problems in the Blue Clan.

Yata hated being alone: his biological father was out of the picture to the point that he had latched onto this family image of it being him and his mom against the world and took her second husband’s family name as the thing he prefers to be called all the time, and then he felt like an outsider in his own family when she had more kids, even though I think he cares about his siblings. He was maliciously and painfully rejected by those he thought were his friends. Then his best friend in the whole world tells him the second family they’ve found means nothing to him and abandons him too.

They snipe at each other and goad each other and yet they’re there for each other when it counts, even before they finally agree to take a stab at reconciliation when Yata acknowledges that leaving Homura was not in fact a betrayal. And it’s telling to me that both of them separately considered it a betrayal without being prompted to by the other. For years. Argh, these two and their emotional issues and inability to communicate half the time.

I love them and their push and pull, complementary skills when fighting or taking care of each other, the way Yata is half murder chihuahua, half pure ray of sunshine, and Saruhiko cares so much without ever saying anything, and just, I love them.

I think this is next door to bulletproof, no matter what angle you come from. I love the angst, the emotional struggle of trying to hold onto a relationship or the elephant in the room of telling/not telling the person who’s forgotten, the learning to fall in love again or live together again or relearn the rules and the intimacies with one person knowing and the other not remembering. The only thing I’d rather not have is suddenly remembers everything. I like stuff coming back but not like a magic bullet, something slow and all the relationship growth through the process is more of the thing I love.

• The mundane one party was faking the relationship for some sort of real reasons with real stakes, or at least a plausibly character-related bad reason (I can totally see Misaki blurting out something like he’s married to get out of a girl’s attention, just saying, should circumstances play out right) but did something to make it seem more real and it caught the real person on the other end, and then the real person they “made up” needed their own ticket out of family or life obligation problems that getting handed a significant other just happened to provide. (Seriously, Fushimi could use a ticket out of his home life, just saying.)
• The made up significant other comes into existence (or the timeline) in response to someone’s wish or magic and thinks they were always real.
• The significant other is a real person but suddenly thinks they’ve been in a relationship all this time as reality sort of rewrites itself around the person’s story of it, and they have to sort that out.

I love it when there are awkward, sudden intimacies that the main character didn’t plan for but can’t entirely turn down without bringing down the house of cards and when the two characters in the relationship end up together after working through initial difficulties of either sorting out reality or sorting out their issues.

Handfast Marriage

So the idea of a temporary marriage for a year and a day (unless they confirm the marriage with sex), whether that’s because one of them’s fae or they get dragooned into it, or everyone in this society becomes an adult by entering a handfast marriage, which they can get out of by not confirming the marriage at the end, is just the perfect idea for some forced closeness for these two. I’m fine if they have history before that (considering the two parted in canon at seventeen years old and the handfast could come after that), or if they’ve never met before and Saruhiko is even more prickly and closed off than he would be if he’d had that time with Misaki in their own little world. Or maybe the handfast is their small world that gets lost along the way when for whatever reason, they don’t confirm it and that’s the betrayal, but there’s hope for future reconciliation. If you write this one without a happy ending, please leave a little hope at the end.

Accidental Shapeshifter Marriage Due to Unknowing Theft of Animal Skin

Misaki is exactly the kind of clueless to make off with some “mythological” creature’s skin and hide it by putting it away somewhere and end up with a shapeshifter spouse unwitting and on accident. And maybe Fushimi doesn’t mind as much as he lets on when it got him away from his birth family. Alternatively, I love the idea of Fushimi suddenly ending up with this cheerful caretaking bundle of violence and sunshine in his home as he’s going WTF and Homura’s maybe a group of shapeshifters and Yata’s too sheepish to admit Fushimi didn’t even mean to steal his skin. Just saying, this would be delightful.

I love the idea of Yata being a crow* or a dragon, but I’d rather not have Saruhiko actually be a monkey. A fox maybe? Or a dragon too. You can’t go wrong with dragons. Feel free to use some other Japanese-appropriate animal that seems suitable. *I am a total sucker for feathers and wing kink so uh… feel free to include that too if your heart desires.

Male Fire God/New King Who Marries Him In What He Assumed To Be A Symbolic Ceremony

If you want to just take this as a prompt for them, I’m fine with that. Just saying. Yata being the fire god in this case.

From the Original Pairing request: I love arranged marriages and culture clashes and I’d love to see worldbuilding and details for the religion/royalty that leads to both the situation and the misunderstanding. Frankly, I adore that difference of perspectives about the truth behind a magic or technology or religion, and I love the idea of this symbolic ceremony that happens to be true.

I really, really love fire gods and myths and would love to see him claiming this new king and the rituals of the wedding ceremony and why this works when he expects to get an heir some other way (thinking this was symbolic) and how it works for the kingdom and then the wedding night when he finds out this isn’t symbolic at all.

What I Love About the Ship

Kingdom of Red was a gift. I love everything about how these three came together, how they interact, how they care about each other. I love Totsuka’s wanting to be in the King’s court and how Mikoto really became a King. I love how Kusanagi told him to be a friend, not a vassal. I love how Kusanagi’s uncle wanted him to have people he was actually with and not just serving. I love that it was basically Kusanagi that formed Homura and dragged Mikoto into it because they needed someone to protect them and Mikoto needed an outlet for his violence. I love how protective Mikoto is of everyone those two brought around him, and his absolute unwillingness to force anything on anyone. I love his and Kusanagi’s whole sorry is unnatural, never mind don’t apologize moment, and the fact that they did apologize because Mikoto realized he couldn’t just go recklessly get himself killed without regard for his friends’ feelings at all and Kusanagi realized that Mikoto would rather not be caged in by these people who depended on him.

Ack, it’s all so good!

And how Totsuka is Mikoto’s person he asks to stop him from rampaging until the Slates kill him, and can’t be burned by Mikoto and the whole way he handled the people who beat him up, refusing to bother the other two with them.

And seriously, the way Kusanagi tosses water on Mikoto in Blaze when he’s getting too broody. Mikoto living only twelve days after Totsuka and then showing up “early” to be with him, and the both of them when Anna saw them before she became King, and all the ouch, ouch, ouch of Kusanagi being left alone afterward without the other two.

I love all three of them, as a trio. They’re equals and true friends and all three of them matter in the way they work together and the way they run Homura.

I also really like how these guys started as Kusanagi and Mikoto then picked up Totsuka along the way and think it would be precious if they need a third and he’s the one they get/both fall for. What I Love About the Ship

I first loved the way they interacted in the bar scene when she comes to give him an update on Mikoto and he makes her a drink, then I read the bit in the manga where he first gave her the offer for a drink when he invited her in out of the rain. I like that he finds her attractive (he’s not blind) but he also doesn’t push past any of the boundaries she actually sets. And I loved what they actually talked about, that they actually connect on a person to person level apart from attraction.

Them going undercover as married was adorable. I love the way they both run their clans, how they can work together and share burdens because they’re both in the same kind of position, and that it’s Clans first for both of them. I like that they don’t put each other first, and I can’t seem them doing the whole fluffy domesticity despite their compatibility. A practical marriage or marriage of convenience feels more likely for them than the traditional married with children and homemaking scenario.

So I love their competence, their quiet moments and how they show they care to their Clans and to each other, when Kusanagi gets flustered or startled and how she’s one of the moments that did that to him, and seeing the way they respect each other while also having that UST between them.

I love soulbonds that are irreversible and so it’s this irrevocable marriage you’re stuck with, even if you decide not to be together. I love the idea of them getting accidentally married, in the course of duty, or via soulbond, or some other means, and then just never getting around to or being able to get it annulled.

I’d love to see them trying to get it annulled or learning to live with this marriage and its consequences. I’d love a soulbond to have some kind of tangible, significant effects or consequences, but prefer for it to not be based on making them long for each other (sexually or otherwise) or give a mental link where they share thoughts.

Woke Up Married, Marriage within dreams becomes real

I am a sucker for woke up married, and the whole concept of Circle Vision seems to fit with alternate dream worlds where things are better, and I’d love to see it become real or bleed over into reality and them having to figure out how to navigate this new relationship status they never planned on at all. I adore forced intimacy and falling in love with your unexpected spouse, whether it’s one-sided, where only one member of the ship is thrown into a new reality and the other belongs to that reality, or two-sided where both are.

I’d love to see them thinking it doesn’t mean anything, it’s just convenient, and knowing they won’t expect too much of each other, but then they’re married or living like it and it sort of changes everything without them realizing it or before they can prevent it.

Okay, so I really, really, really love getting married for practical reasons, then catching feelings and falling in love and slowly realizing that you’ve done that. These two are kind of perfect for that, and with how low key they are, it might take some doing to make them admit they’ve caught feelings, but I would totally love seeing it. If Awashima was going to pick anyone for a marriage of convenience, he seems the likeliest target.

Marriage As Clemency At Public Execution, Marriage as criminal rehabilitation

So the obvious pick for needs clemency is Kusanagi, seeing as he’s basically a gang executive. I’m fine with this being her fixing a Homura mess in the cano setting or possibly more plausibly, a setting AU that makes this fit better. Whichever suits the story.

Secret Marriage

I feel like this is a form of practical marriage I could get behind for them. They would so be the kind of people to not let being married get in the way of taking care of their Clans and also not really making a big deal or a public deal at all about being married, whether the Clans were on speaking terms or not.

I’d love to see them being married and the contrast between their private relationship and how they are with others or how it looks like to others.

Working While on Your Honeymoon

Both of them would work on their honeymoon. They totally would. And I’d love to see them doing it while also salvaging some actually honeymooning in between all that needs their attention.

Canon I’ve Consumed

So I’ve seen the anime, Dead Apple, and read the summaries of Fifteen and Beast, parts of the main manga with a bit of osmosis of more of the manga. Feel free to incorporate any canon, though if you get into manga-only arcs, please include a hint of explanation where necessary. (I love spoilers, go for it.) I’ve also seen the new episodes for season 3 and am in love.

What I Love About the Ship

I got into BSD entirely because I was promised Chuuya, and Chuuya delivered. And from the first moment they landed on screen together, they were just dripping in history and knew each other so well, and had these little intimate physical things they did, like Chuuya dragging Dazai’s head forward by the hair and Dazai just automatically adjusting for the height difference all over the place. Dazai knows how Chuuya fights; Chuuya knows how Dazai thinks (and says he would have killed Dazai long ago if he’d been idiot enough to get himself caught on purpose, like yes please). I think it’s fascinating how throughout the series, despite not fully acting like he realizes it, Chuuya actually does see through all of Dazai’s schemes, just later rather than sooner. Not everyone catches on to exactly how Dazai’s manipulating things and what he’s after, but Chuuya always catches up at some point.

I love that whole scene against the wall with the knife and the blood and yes, kink I didn’t even know I had before that, and the fact that Chuuya didn’t even come down to kill him, just “harass” him. It was Dazai that played chicken with Chuuya’s temper on purpose to get that reaction. They get under each other’s skin and they hate it and they love it and they trust each other as partners and they trust each other as enemies too, in their own way. I can’t even describe how much I love that, just I really, really love that.

And also! The cuteness of the party! Dazai threw him a party! Dazai was like mine! for life! and didn’t get it and immediately got soooo mad! And I love those little Mafia babies. Okay, teens, but yes, that. (And tbh, that moment when Chuuya realizes just what Dazai’s done and looks like he’s for real going to kill Dazai is super hot and I think Dazai would agree.) I love the idea of them trying to undo it or break out of it and failing miserably. I love the idea of the spouse trying to figure out just what’s wrong with the traveler. I feel like it’d be too easy for Dazai to figure out what’s up, so he’d make a better traveler, but if you can make it work, I’d love to see it plausibly going the opposite direction.

And yes, this is totally a situation where dubcon sex (due to lack of knowledge about spouse’s replacement by pre-spouse / alternate spouse) would make me very happy.

I’d love to see the lengths he’d go to and/or how he’d try to manipulate Chuuya into marrying him, the way he tried to manipulate Chuuya into being his partner dog for life, and tbh, I’d love it to be mostly played straight / seriously, with room for humor but not tipping over into crackfic/ridiculousness just for the sake of it.

These two have life-debt written all over them. They save each other like they were born for it, made for it, and I would absolutely love to see a serious take on that being considered marriage or prompting one, even if no one thinks they went through with that or realizes they’re married. Even if the two of them don’t properly admit, just act on it in their own way.

Made Up Spouse That Turns Out to be Real

Oh the poor horrified soul that dreamed up their significant other, only for it to be the one person that annoys them most and they never knew it. If Dazai makes up Chuuya, feel free to lean in as hard to the whole Arahabaki backstory or having basically arrived as a kid or teen out of nothing and jumping on the chance of a respectable life premade for him, with his name already written on it, and the annoying dreadful person that is Dazai isn’t going to stop him from taking it. Or if Chuuya makes up Dazai, omg, just Dazai would be just the kind of person to take gross advantage and nearly fulfill his death wish thereby.

I’d prefer if the reason for making up a spouse is something with legitimate stakes or else part of appearances projected for the sake of the Mafia work or negotiations rather than just family thinks they need to get married.

I really, really love fire gods and myths and would love to see him claiming this new king and the rituals of the wedding ceremony and why this works when he expects to get an heir some other way (thinking this was symbolic) and how it works for the kingdom and then the wedding night when he finds out this isn’t symbolic at all.

Canon I’ve Consumed

So I’ve seen the anime, Dead Apple, and read the summaries of Fifteen and Beast, parts of the main manga with a bit of osmosis of more of the manga. Feel free to incorporate any canon, though if you get into manga-only arcs, please include a hint of explanation where necessary. (I love spoilers, go for it.) I’ve also seen the new episodes for season 3 and am in love. I have not read all of the Dark Era LN, but I’ve loved every bit of Oda’s POV of Dazai and would love to see that included if you’re familiar with it.

What I Love About the Ship

So there is precious little of this extremely rare ship out there, but if this will help to lure you in, have a dark murder-suicide take or a warm fluffy Chuuya kissing Oda to make Dazai jealous and it works take, aka, how I got suckered into this rarest of rare ships.

Okay, so let me start off with arguably the two most important people in Dazai’s life before he joins the ADA. One of them (Chuuya) inspired him to try living, whatever he tries to pass it off as solely coming close to dying. One of them (Oda) inspired him to try being on the side that saves people.

And there’s that official art with that wistful almost pining look on Chuuya’s face when he’s looking back at Oda and Dazai together, and they’re just so close and have such real trust despite the relative shortness of their partnership. They were partners for three years and yet, they had the kind of trust that Chuuya will throw himself out of a plane while activating Corruption, even though Dazai’s supposedly dead. Everything I said above about Double Black applies.

Then there’s Oda and Dazai and the true genuine affection between them, the depths of their friendship. Despite Dazai’s conflicted rejection of Ango, it was Oda that outright considered Dazai his only friend after the betrayal, and the way he cares about Dazai and Dazai’s real and vulnerable with him hits all my buttons. I love that Oda never pushes too hard either, but just carefully allows Dazai to be himself while still being there for him, and Dazai tries so hard to return the favor. I love them so much.

And when all we had was Dark Era and main storyline, I kept wondering why Oda and Chuuya seemed very separate parts of his life and wanted to see them affect each other or interact around this awkward tie that is their connection to Dazai, and I think they’d work well together too. Oda doesn’t judge, and Chuuya’s shameless and fairly judgment free himself, yet sees value in people in a way that Oda does and Dazai has to be told to.

I think they’d work full on Mafia killing sides of their personalities and the softer, caring sides they each have. I love the complicated dance of how their characters interact and show or don’t show their feelings.

First off, there is no pairing within this trio that would be happy about getting matched in the first place, and then it’s two someones that complicate everything. What I Love About the Ship

Ships I came out of season 2 BSD with: Kyouka/Atsushi, Akutagawa/Atsushi, Lucy/Atsushi and I happened to seriously like the way Akutagawa and Kyouka interacted (in his own way affectionate and respectful) and saw much potential in Kyouka and Lucy which has been realized in season 3. Also pretty much picked up Kyouka/Atsushi/Akutagawa straight up from Dead Apple.

I love the way they all think so differently and the way they interact and Kyouka whisked Atsushi off on that date and the way he saves her and how she and Akutagawa are so practical about working together when necessary and Atsushi’s manga thing of “Are you a lawnmower!” and just about every single bit of everything with Lucy. I LOVE Lucy. I love Kyouka shooting straight with her about the coffee. I love Atsushi and her fighting and then making up. I love these four fluffy or seriously deadly and everything in between.

And the angst moments! And Lucy telling Atsushi to give Kyouka space because she actually really got it. And all four having orphan backgrounds and being able to relate. And yes, please, all of that.

Sedoretu is designed to have a fourway and I’d love to see them in one, however you tuck them all in. I see Lucy and Atsushi as morning and Akutagawa and Kyouka as evening, and I’m fine with them having a traditional sedoretu or flouting its rules something terrible. There is literally one rule-abiding member of this foursome and that’s Atsushi. They can bring him around if necessary.

Can Only Join Organization by Marrying In

So basically, if you can only join organizations by marrying in, good chance those marriages are treated as marriages of convenience and probably aren’t consummated half the time too, but I could see Kyouka and Akutagawa starting off that way and Kyouka marrying Atsushi to join the ADA and them offering Lucy a place with the ADA and just the complicated way everything turns when people start falling for each other.

Canon I’ve Consumed

I’ve watched all three seasons of Dance Academy and have not watched the movie yet and am hoping desperately they don’t break up, though I’m fairly certain Wes is entirely ignored in it. Feel free to spoil me in fic if you want to use movie canon as well (I actually like spoilers).

What I Love About the Ship

So first off, I hated Abigail in season 1. In season 3, she was my favorite thing about Dance Academy. And I loved Wes and all the hints of the start of their relationship in Barcelona and that he made her happy and Ethan wouldn’t even speak of it afterward and that Wes knew her well enough to send her bubble wrap. That is seriously beautiful.

The way they both pushed and pulled and ignored and teased was delightful. I love them soooo much from pretty much the moment he showed up. And he wants her to be happy because she deserves to be happy, despite everything and he did the thing on the bridge that she came up with top of her head to get rid of him and just, I love them okay?

I love all her prickly bits and practicality and respecting Tara suddenly for surviving school despite the distraction of trying to interpret boyfriend’s behavior and I love his stubbornness and gentleness and the way he listens to her and their long distance relationship thing was absolutely priceless, tech issues and all.

This feels like an obvious follow-on from canon because Abigail has hangups and generally Wes has to politely bulldoze his way through them and I can totally see this extending to the proposal and marriage stage. I’d love warm, sweet stories along this line.

Working While on Your Honeymoon

Despite the fact that it looks on the surface like Abigail would totally do this, I’m almost 100% positive they both would, and it would be kind of delightful to see them get totally derailed from honeymooning by dance.

Characters Keep “Forgetting” to Annul Accidental Marriage, Trying to Keep Accidental Marriage Secret

So the idea that maybe they accidentally got married in Barcelona is just delightful and funny and I could see why Ethan wouldn’t talk about it if they did, and both of them but especially Abigail would try to keep it a secret and yet, everything else would be more important than actually getting around to annulling it. I’d also love to see how that would affect the events of season 3.

And about that… Wes doesn’t seem to know they’re estranged because Abigail is super not good at answering her phone and she does, but he’s here and that’s a problem. I’d just seriously love to see what you could do with this.

Canon I’ve Consumed

I watched the the first season completely, chunks of season 2, the whole Morland takes over Jamie’s organization storyline, most of Kitty’s storyline through her confronting her rapist, and noped out of the Mycroft storyline early on. I’ve seen all of Jamie’s material through season 3 and have not seen season 6. If you write from it, please just leave enough hints for me to understand. I’m fine with you incorporating material I haven’t seen.

What I Love About the Ship

In the canon situation, I can’t see Joan going for this but they both love her and I would love to see how that could play out down the line. Alternatively, an AU where the three are in school together or are all dating or not realizing their dating and they don’t really realize Jamie’s building her empire on the side. I really really love their dynamic, all three of them, and Jamie being protective of both of them, and Sherlock figuring her out but being unable to let go and Jamie wondering to Sherlock if caring about what other people cared about is how he grew morals, and I would also love to see her grow morals because of caring about Sherlock and Joan’s, especially if Joan doesn’t actually have a reason to reject that relationship utterly before it gets started. So basically, AU this thing to kingdom come but I would love to read this.
